KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 7): The man who initiated Malaysia’s national car
Proton now says there are too many cars on the streets of Kuala Lumpur.
Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who is currently Proton's Advisor, said there
are so many cars that the authorities should consider imposing a payment
on cars entering the city. The former prime minister was commenting on
town planning, connectivity and public transportation, after being
honoured as the Malaysian Institute of Planner's patron on Wednesday.
"Today we see far too many cars in KL. At some stage, we (would) have to
charge them for coming into KL especially those who without any
passengers. Just like London's policy," he said.
